For this assignment, we had to choose a topic to design artwork for and apply it to something that would be marketable today. I decided to go with a Gibson Girl for my project and create a Life Magazine from it. I did some research on the year and found that Gibson Girls were included in Magazines. I decided to hand-draw the Gibson Girl for this assignment.
These are a few of the images that I referenced for the final cover. I wanted to make sure that I incorporated the Gibson Girl's famous hairstyle in the image.
This was the final outcome of the design. I didn't include very bright colors because back then the colors were more neutral. I also decided to go with the cover of a magazine because, during my research, I found that Gibson Girls were included on the covers of different magazine brands.
